Advertising Disclosure

This advertising disclosure explains how OrthoFi App makes money and the commercial relationships that may influence what appears on our site. It is published in compliance with FTC 16 CFR Part 255 (Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising).

How OrthoFi App makes money

OrthoFi App earns revenue primarily through affiliate commissions. When readers click links to third-party lenders on our site and complete a loan application or funded loan, we may receive a commission from the lender or from the aggregator that connects us to the lender.

Our main affiliate partner is APIdiamond, which operates the pre-qualification form on our Apply page. APIdiamond connects us to a network of consumer lenders offering personal loans that can be used for orthodontic treatment, among other purposes. We receive a commission when applicants submitted through our form are funded by one of those lenders.

Products we do NOT earn commissions on

Several products we cover editorially do not have an affiliate program with us:

  • OrthoFi — sold directly to orthodontic practices, not patients. No consumer affiliate path.
  • OrthoBanc — same model; practice-direct sales.
  • AcceptCare — same model; practice-direct sales.
  • CareCredit — no direct affiliate relationship with us; patients apply through CareCredit.com or participating providers.
  • Cherry — no direct affiliate relationship with us.
  • PatientFi — no direct affiliate relationship with us.
  • Sunbit — no direct affiliate relationship with us.

Our coverage of these products is purely editorial. We review them because they are relevant to our readers, not because they pay us.

Editorial independence

Commercial relationships do not influence our editorial coverage. We write the same way about products that pay us as about products that do not. Specifically:

  • Our review ratings are not influenced by affiliate payouts
  • We do not reorder product comparisons to favor compensated partners
  • We do not remove or soften criticism of products that compensate us
  • We publish honest pros and cons based on documented product features and real patient feedback

If a product that pays us has serious drawbacks, we document those drawbacks. If a product that does not pay us is the right fit for a particular reader situation, we recommend it anyway.

How to recognize affiliate links

Our compensated placement is the pre-qualification form on our Apply page. If we add affiliate links elsewhere, they will be marked with rel="sponsored" in the HTML.

Editorial links to companies we do not have a commercial relationship with (OrthoFi, Inc.'s own website, trade publications, government resources) use rel="nofollow" or no rel attribute at all.

What this means for you

You do not pay more by applying through our links than you would by applying directly with the lender. Our commission comes out of the lender's customer acquisition budget, not from your loan amount or APR.

However, you should be aware of our commercial relationships when evaluating our recommendations. If you want a fully commercial-free view, our editorial coverage of OrthoFi, CareCredit, Cherry, and PatientFi is published without affiliate incentives and may be a useful baseline.

Lender-specific disclosures

Specific lenders accessed through our APIdiamond pre-qualification form include personal loan providers underwriting applications across prime, near-prime, and subprime credit tiers. The specific lenders available at any given time depend on your credit profile, income, and state of residence.

Loans accessed through this flow are not available to residents of New York, Vermont, West Virginia, or Arkansas.

No fabricated testimonials

We never fabricate patient reviews, testimonials, or ratings. Patient feedback on our site comes from public third-party sources (Trustburn, Reddit, the Better Business Bureau, and testimonials published by OrthoFi) and is quoted word for word or clearly labeled as our summary. Our Editorial Team collective byline is used in place of invented author personas.

FTC 16 CFR Part 255 compliance

This disclosure is designed to meet the Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising. Material connections between OrthoFi App and the lenders we refer are disclosed clearly on this page, in our footer, and on individual pages where affiliate links appear.
