AcceptCare review: the multi-lender marketplace inside OrthoFi
AcceptCare sends one application to several lenders at once, with a practice-funded plan as backup. It uses a soft credit check, can surface 0% APR lender offers for 6 to 24 months if you qualify, and lender terms run up to 60 months.
- OrthoFi cites five to six lenders per application
- In-office fallback: 6–72 months, up to 18% APR
- No published minimum credit score
- Only available through your practice
AcceptCare is OrthoFi's dedicated patient financing product. It connects you to a network of third-party lenders through a soft credit inquiry and lets your orthodontist present pre-qualified loan offers during your consultation.
What AcceptCare is
AcceptCare is a case acceptance platform within the broader OrthoFi family of products. While OrthoFi's main platform handles practice management and in-house financing, AcceptCare focuses specifically on patient financial presentation and third-party loan sourcing. Both products share the Open Choice slider but AcceptCare's core differentiator is the multi-lender marketplace underneath it.
AcceptCare sits in orthodontic and general dental practices. Your orthodontist's financial coordinator uses it during your consultation to show you pre-qualified payment and loan offers on a tablet, side by side with the in-house financing options.
How AcceptCare actually works
Treatment plan priced
Your orthodontist builds the clinical treatment plan and the financial coordinator enters the total cost into AcceptCare.
Soft credit inquiry
With your consent, AcceptCare runs a soft credit check across its lender network. This does not affect your credit score.
Pre-qualified offers appear
The system displays all pre-qualified loan offers from participating lenders, each with APR, loan amount, term options, and monthly payment calculated against your Open Choice slider position.
You pick a plan
You compare offers, adjust the slider if needed to see different monthly amounts, and select the plan you want. The in-house financing option is shown alongside third-party offers for direct comparison.
Hard credit inquiry and funding
Once you accept a third-party offer, the lender performs a hard credit inquiry and finalizes the loan.
Pros of AcceptCare
- Multiple lender offers at once. You see all the pre-qualified options from different lenders without having to apply to each one individually.
- Soft inquiry pre-qualification. You can compare offers before any hard pull on your credit.
- Integrated with in-house financing. AcceptCare shows third-party offers next to the practice's in-house plan, so you can compare both in one view.
- Broad credit coverage. AcceptCare pairs several lenders with an in-office plan and says that combination gives every patient an option.
- Fast approval. Offers appear during the consultation.
Cons of AcceptCare
- Still provider-gated. You cannot use AcceptCare on your own; your orthodontist must be enrolled.
- Lender terms vary widely. APR, origination fees, and prepayment terms are set by each lender, not by AcceptCare itself. Read the specific offer carefully.
- Not all lenders in network at all practices. Which lenders appear may vary by state and by practice.
- Weaker credit means fewer lender offers. AcceptCare does not publish minimum scores. Patients with fair or poor credit are more likely to be offered the practice-funded in-office plan, where the practice can charge up to 18% APR.
How AcceptCare compares to similar marketplaces
AcceptCare is comparable to other medical financing marketplaces that aggregate lenders:
- Cherry is a single lender rather than a marketplace — one underwriting decision, one offer, one platform. Cherry uses a soft check only and discloses APRs from 0% to 35.99%.
- Personal loan marketplaces are open to any patient but are not built into the orthodontic consultation.
- CareCredit is a single credit line product, not a marketplace — one approval decision, revolving credit afterward.
For orthodontic treatment specifically, AcceptCare's advantage is that it is already open on the tablet during your consultation. For general shopping before an appointment, our pre-qualification form or applying directly with Cherry is more useful.
Should you use AcceptCare?
If your orthodontist uses OrthoFi or AcceptCare, there is almost no downside to looking at the marketplace during your consultation — the soft inquiry does not affect your credit and you may find a better rate than the in-house option. Just compare total cost, not just monthly payment, before you sign.
If you have already pre-qualified elsewhere (Cherry, a personal loan from an online lender, CareCredit), bring that offer to the consultation. The financial coordinator can match it against the AcceptCare options directly, and you keep leverage either way.
Frequently asked questions
Is AcceptCare the same as OrthoFi?
AcceptCare is a product within the OrthoFi family. OrthoFi's main platform handles practice management and in-house financing; AcceptCare focuses specifically on third-party lender presentation. They share features like the Open Choice slider and often appear together in the same practice.
What lenders are in the AcceptCare network?
AcceptCare does not publish its full lender list. OrthoFi says one application reaches five to six lenders. The specific lenders available depend on your state and your orthodontist's configuration.
Does AcceptCare charge me fees?
We have not seen AcceptCare charge patients directly. Any fees come from the specific lender you select from the marketplace, disclosed before you accept the offer.
Can I use AcceptCare without OrthoFi?
Yes. Some practices use AcceptCare as a standalone patient financing tool without the broader OrthoFi platform. The patient experience is similar — soft inquiry pre-qualification, multi-lender marketplace, Open Choice slider.
